James Smith, Sergeant at Arms, called the meeting to order turned the meeting over to State Director, Wayne Eck.  Wayne

announced that our Director, Jim Woody, has found it necessary to resign due to personal reasons.  Larry Adams, Assistant

Director, conducted our meeting.

Sarah Eck, State Newsletter Editor, pointed out that the current newsletter has color photos.  Running color costs more so we

were encouraged to pay our yearly fees to keep the newsletters coming.  This time everyone in the state will receive the paper

but hereafter only those who have paid will get it.  Our annual fee is $15 per household and that will not increase because of

the color.  She said there are several businesses and individuals who pay for advertising and that is where a lot of the money

comes from to print the paper.  She asked us to think about who we buy parts from, or do business with, and encourage them

to run an ad.

Jerry Dunn, Treasurer, gave his report saying we’ve had two months of paying out postage and at the last meeting money was

taken from the kitty to leave a tip for the waitress.  He asked that we be mindful about tips and not forget the gals who are assigned

to our room.  He also brought up the donation we give to State and made a motion that we should put a cap of $150 on it.  The

motion passed and he will get $150 to Sarah Eck prior to State in September.  He collected chapter dues after the meeting.  There

are still a few who have not paid so he will catch up with them at future meetings.

Linda Dunn, Activities Coordinator, went over the calendar for this year asking for feedback on ideas beyond the usual parades and

trike-ins.  Our next scheduled event is the annual Shelly Androes Memorial Ride in Orchard Park, April 26th, 6 PM.  She will

contact the lady in charge and get the particulars to be presented at the April meeting.  She asked about doing a scavenger hunt,

which was well received so will come up with some ideas on that.

Wayne Eck talked about two upcoming State Meetings – one will be at the ECK annual trike-in picnic in May and the other will be

at the SEK 4-corners Trike-In in June.  Both meetings are preparation for the State Trike-In in September.  He would like to see as

many attend these events as possible.

Wayne Eck, and Junior Hester, Region II Director, talked about a camp-out weekend over 4th of July.  July 2nd will be the Parade in

Park City so the suggestion is to ride to Sedgwick for lunch and then out to the park for a relaxing couple of days.  Some will be camping

and some will come and go.

Bill Taber, Co-Road Captain, suggested a weekend ride to Hays, via Larned on the way and coming back through Salina to Wichita.

This would include visiting a museum and other site seeing along the way.  He is going to ride the route in advance to see how long it

will take and report back at a later meeting to see if there is any interest.

With no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.

Our next meeting is Sunday, April 10th, 3 PM, at Bella Casa Restaurant in El Dorado.  The address is 1111 E. Central, which is the

El Dorado Motel & Restaurant.  Go East on Central out of El Dorado (US 54) (KS 254) past the railroad tracks and the bridge.  It is the

first place on the South side of the road.
