Two Brothers Bar-B-Q

We met at Two Brothers Bar-B-Q for our monthly meeting.  Good food.  Definitely good company.  Lots of

conversation and laughs during dinner and throughout the meeting.

In attendance:  Junior & Debra Hester, Dale Kitlen, Dan & Tish Seely, Steve & Judy Lyon, Randy Johnson,

Robert & Charolette Primm, James & Lynnett Smith, Leo Foster, Pete & Katy Walter, Dwight Rix,

Penny Hynson, Ivan Stout, Larry Adams, Robert Harris, Gary Harris, Jeff Eck, Jerry & Linda Dunn,

Wayne & Sarah Eck, Roslyn Snyder

James Smith, , called the meeting to order.

Wayne Eck, Chapter Director, said our new season is here and we have several items to talk about. First, he

mentioned we had 5 trikes in the St. Patrick's Day Parade.   It was a very cold day so thank you to the brave

souls who showed up to represent our chapter.

We passed the hat and Jerry Dunn, Treasurer, announced we had collected $26.05 bringing us to a total of

$465.24.  Anyone who hasn't paid their $.50 dues should see him after the meeting.  He also said

he is not making the little cards for paid membership that he made last time.  If you want a card, similar to a

business card with the logo on one side and place for you to put your contact info on the other side, let him know.

Old Business:  It was asked, at the last meeting, if we could proxy vote for the state elections and the answer

was yes.  There are two types of voting -- proxy or absentee.  Wayne went over the list of those running for

office and Sarah Eck passed out the ballots for those who wanted to vote today.  If you want to go to Emporia

to vote in person, the date is March 21st, at 1 PM.  Sandwich materials will be provided from the state treasury

and everyone is asked to bring a side dish to round out the meal.

Wayne said the annual Shop Day, at his house, is scheduled for May 2nd.  In the past it has been in April but

has typically been too cold to get much accomplished or go for a ride.  The idea is to do light maintenance such

as oil changes, grease jobs, maybe make a flag holder for each trike, etc.  In good humor, Pete Walter suggested

finishing the work on Kathy's new trike and Dwight Rix joked that he would like to do an oil change on his

trike, which is just an engine and transmission at this point -- sitting in Wayne's shop.  It's an all day event

ending with a run to Wichita or somewhere for ice cream.   More information will be available as we get closer

to the date.

Wayne had thought about canceling the last Friday of the month Trike Night for March because Bob Primm

has done an outstanding job organizing Wednesday night dinner out, twice a month.  Wayne got outvoted,

so put Trike Night back on your calendars for March 26th.

On our Calendar for August 15th is a Gospel Music show and dinner at Prairie Rose.  Wayne asked if we

thought that would be a good weekend to host other Chapters that would like to come to our area.  Tornado

Alley, in Hutchinson, for instance, has a growing membership, but not many activities.  Sarah Eck said this

would be a good time to just kick back and relax without any formal duties or responsibilities.  Ideas mentioned

are to ride through old town, look at the troll, the Keeper of The Plains and maybe have a Saturday cookout.

Junior Hester, Region 2, suggested going to West Harvey County Park on Saturday.  A small river runs

through the park so there is fishing.  Also available is overnight camping spots for those who would like to do

that.   We will talk about this in more detail on Shop Day in May.

Junior Hester said we all need to continue checking the by-laws on the National site as they are changing.

The biggest change is anyone under the age of 16 cannot vote.  The other change is that in the sex offender

part, the word "he" has been changed to "themselves" taking into consideration this can happen with men or

women.

The trip to Hutchinson Salt Mines has been changed from April 17th to April 10th.

Tish Seely, Activities Coordinator, announced that Biker Sunday is April 25th, at Hope Church in Andover.  The

event is a hot dog lunch with music.  The time is after the 11 AM church service.  Everyone is encouraged to ride

out and enjoy and if you would like to attend the church service prior to the lunch, you are more than welcome.

Minutes from the February meeting were approved as written.

There is no meeting in April.
